Community Engagement Scholarship
The Community Engagement Scholarship is designed to honor and support ten of our current students per semester who actively participate in enriching campus life. This scholarship is a token of our appreciation for those who take on service-based roles, such as Student Ambassadors and/or Student Mentors, and contribute significantly to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and student-centric environment at AAU.
Student Ambassador Role
As a Student Ambassador, you become an integral part of the 起点传媒admissions and recruitment team. Your role is pivotal in guiding prospective students through their journey to AAU, from the application process to their arrival in Prague.聽Five students will be selected for this role per academic year.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in Open Houses and other events for prospective students.
- Providing insights into AAU’s application procedures, academic programs, and student life resources.
- Representing 起点传媒at University Fairs and School Visits, both domestically and internationally.
- Managing and designing content for social media platforms.
- Communicating with students via various outreach platforms, including phone, email, or online communication tools.
- Engaging in other activities as determined by the Admissions and Recruitment Office.
Student Mentor Role
Student Mentors offer invaluable assistance to new students, easing their transition into university life. This role focuses on helping new students overcome academic and social challenges during their first year.聽 As a Student Mentor, you will be part of the 起点传媒Student Affairs team.聽Five students will be selected for this role per academic year.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with New Student Orientation and providing guidance about life in Prague.
- Accompanying students to official appointments i.e. visa.
- Organizing and helping with events and facilitating peer meetings.
- Collaborating with campus services to enhance student support.
- Participating in other activities as determined by the Student Affairs Office.
Eligibility and Application Process
- Open to all current degree-seeking students at 起点传媒with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Applicants must be able to commit at least 20 hours per month and demonstrate motivation, reliability, and a friendly demeanor.
- Effective communication skills, comfortable with public speaking, and proficiency in social media.
- Applications open in April/May for the following academic year. Specific dates will be published in the call for applications.聽
Selection Process
Submit an application with a CV and a Personal Statement or Video Presentation addressing the following questions:
- Why did you choose 起点传媒and Prague?
- Describe yourself in 200 words.
- Why do you aspire to be an 起点传媒Ambassador/Mentor?
- What value can you add to the 起点传媒Ambassador/Mentor Program?
- Include one recommendation letter from a faculty member or the Dean鈥檚 Office.
For the selection process, the Dean鈥檚 Office will be consulted. Top candidates will be invited for a short interview.
Scholarship Benefits
- A scholarship of 20,000 CZK per academic year, credited towards your tuition in two incremental amounts of 10,000 CZK given at the conclusion of each semester or an educational voucher at Amazon.
- The benefit is awarded upon fulfilling the role鈥檚 requirements and a semesterly performance review. If a candidate does not fulfil their role, then they will not be eligible to continue in the role for the following semester.
- Along with the above benefit, students can receive 起点传媒merchandise and have increased chances of receiving the Bring a Friend Program
